Written By : Veronica Roth Divergent is the first book of the trilogy written by best-selling author, Veronica Roth. Beatrice "Tris" Prior explores her identity within a society that defines their citizens by their social and personality-affiliation with five factions ; Abnegation(The Selfless), Dauntless (The Brave), Candor(The Honest), Erudite(The Intelligent) and Amity(The Kind) which removes the threat of anyone exercising independent will and re-threatening the population's safety. Underlying the action focused main plot is the romantic subplot between Tris and one of her Dauntless instructors, nicknamed Four. 

Percy Jackson and The Titan's Curse

Written By : Rick Riordan Percy and his friends go on a yet another quest. On the way they are threatened and attacked by monsters, one character dies and one appears to. The book is action-packed,dark and violent. There is a bit of swearing, but the biggest problem is how the demigods are born. It talks about Gods sleeping with humans to make the demigods. But overall the book is amazing. 

Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters

Written By : Rick Riordan Percy must get the golden fleece back from a cyclops to heal Thalia's tree. Grover is kidnapped by the same cyclops and is Percy is alerted by his empathy link to Grover. The violence is very mild compared to most fantasy violence books. Heroes are magically cured and monsters are defeated and vanish in a puff of smoke but reappear later.  

Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief

Written By : Rick Riordan Greek Gods have affairs with mortal women and the resulting children are demigods. It's a fantasy violence including swordplay and fighting monsters. Percy's mom is apparently killed in front of him and his stepfather, who drinks to excess, used to hit his mother. There is also a trip to the underworld, ruled by Hades.

Written by : Neil Gaiman Coraline is a creepy book and could be disturbing for sensitive kids. The central adventure is about a girl trying to save herself, her parents and some trapped souls from the Other Mother in a secret world. Coraline discovers a dark world with crawling rats, spiders, other creatures. But Coraline also finds her inner braveness throughout the adventure.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1

Written By : J.K.Rowling The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the second-to-last book of the Harry Potter series. Its a grim,violent and fantasy book. The characters show wonderful qualities such as bravery, loyalty, perseverance and sacrifice, but death still occurs in nearly every chapter. Harry and his friends also get heavily injured but still continue to fight. Harry gets to know many secrets Dumbledore and Severus Snape had kept from him. 

The Trials of Apollo - The Hidden Oracle

In this book, Apollo must begin his quests to save the oracles who are captured by Apollo's oldest enemy, Python. He faces many difficulties including, serving the newest demigod Meg and coming up with plans against Emperor Nero ( The guy who is behind this stuff ). The author also unleashes many surprises for his fans. 

Invisible Ghosts

Written by : Robyn Schneider Invisible Ghosts is a combination of light romance and a ghost story about a teen named Rose Asher who is struggling after the death of her brother. The book centers on Rose's struggle to visit her brother and be with the only guy who makes her feel alive. The complications arise from both of the relationships. Issues around grief and guilt and how to move on from loss factors largely into the story. 

Norse Mythology

Written by : Neil Gaiman Norse Mythology is a novelist account of ancient Scandinavian myths. The book is set from the birth of the universe to Ragnarok, the Twilight of the Gods. The Norse Gods go on adventures and engage in great contests. Things often turning violent ( Thor killing enemies with his magic hammer, Mjolnir ) or very disturbing ( Loki giving birth to his children ) . There's a little sexual content and a bit of drinking, mostly of mead.

Written by : Rick Riordan The Hammer of Thor, is the second book is the Magnus Chase series. In this book, Magnus continues to be a brave character who feels much empathy for others--especially the loners and the homeless he used to live among. He tries hard both to understand his friends--including a new gender-fluid friend named Alex--and to help Sam who struggles to find a way to tell her betrothed about her second life as a Valkyrie. Plus the God Loki's imprisonment is described in detail: A snake drips venom at his face and he is chained to boulders with the entrails of his murdered sons. 

Magnus Chase - The Gods of Asgard : The Sword of Summer

Written by : Rick Riordan  The Sword of Summer, the first book based on the life of Magnus Chase is about him dealing with the Norse Gods. Magnus has to stop the end of the world (Ragnarok). There's a nasty wolf involved (related to the one who killed his mother two years earlier) ,some drunken giants to kill and some fighting which ends with terrible losses. Oh, and Magnus dies at the beginning of the book but luckily his soul gets transported by a Valkyrie named Sam to a paradise named Valhalla.

The Heroes of Olympus-The House of Hades

Written By : Rick Riordan The House of Hades which is the fourth book of the Heroes of Olympus series, is written about seven demigods and their quest to save humanity from an ancient primordial goddess. The book is combined with plenty of action, danger and humor. The book takes two of the main characters straight to Tartarus. Rick Riordan also introduces his first gay teen demigod, who gets outed by Cupid himself. 

The Heroes of Olympus - The Blood of Olympus

Written by: Rick Riordan The Blood of Olympus which is the fifth and final book of the Heroes of Olympus series is about seven demigods with only a few days at hand before the blood is spilled. The book has a battle of the Greek and Roman demigods joining forces and attacking the monsters unleashed by Gaia. The book has a lot of action and thriller with a twist of humor. Though the question remains the same, 'Will the seven most powerful demigods be able to stop the primordial goddess?'

Heroes of Olympus - The Lost Hero
